Message anecdotal. But the mod makes total sense. I gave this a lot of thought before deciding to stick with my 555's.

Electrolysis occurs because of the direct current through the injector coils at rest, combined with the addition of alcohols to gasoline. Get rid of the current and the corrosion should stop. I've had two purple tops go bad on me in four years, before my harness mod. I've been on a good stretch now for at least a couple of years. Bernie just did the harness mod for me last month. I decided to stick with my same old injectors. The newer style injcectors are considered a bit more hardy. My personal opinion is that you do have a "very good chance" of long life out of your purple tops with the harness mod. Remember, there are still lots of folks out there with purple tops and unmodded harnesses who have never had a injector failure.
